Ashley and Mary-Kate did not disappoint as they arrived for the Council of the Fashion Designers of America Awards 2013 Awards Nomination event in New York City on Wednesday. They looked just like the fashionistas they are in their artfully put together gothic-inspired outfits. The announcements were made at an event hosted by CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski, whose Swarovski Crystal brand is the annual ceremony's underwriting partner.

The campaign will be the first time the Olsen Twins will promote a brand outside of their own empire. The add campaign will debut in April issues of Vogue, Elle, InStyle, Vanity Fair and others.

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen were born 13 June 1986. They were born in Sherman Oaks, California in USA. Mother Jarnette Olsen is a personal manager, and David Olsen is a real estate developer and mortgage banker. Girls are also known as the OLSEN TWINS. They have an older brother, Trent, a younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen. Olsen's parents divorced in 1996. Their parents have since separated and their father remarried. Ashley and Mary-Kate have a step-brother Jake and a step-sister Taylor from her father's second marriage. Their step-mom is McKenzie. When their father got remarried Ashley did not attend the wedding. Jarnette their Mother, had once danced with the Los Angeles Ballet corps. One day, she met a friend's friend, who was a casting agent, and mentioned that she had twins. The agent asked to see a photograph, and then arranged an audition for the girls for a new ABC sitcom called Full House. So the fraternal twins made their acting debut as infants.

Ashley and Mary-Kate were cast as Michelle Tanner in Full House when they were just 6 months old, and they began filming when they were 9 months old. During the first two years on the air, Full House did not even make it into the Top 30 list of most-watched television shows. By the 1989–90 season, however, it did, and climbed to the No. 14 spot the next year. It peaked at No. 7 by the end of the 1991/1992 season. At the age of six, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen began starring together in TV, film, and video projects, which continued to their teenage years. They have been described as one of just a handful of child stars who managed to maintain their appeal as they grew up. Their access to the media had been strictly controlled, but that began to change after they earned their drivers' licenses and received matching Range Rover sport-utility vehicles for their 16 birthdays. In 2004, Ashley and Mary-Kate graduated from Campbell Hall School and began attending New York University. Both noted that they would concentrate on their academic careers for the next few years, putting their other activities on hold. That same year, they also purchased the minority shares of movie production company Dualstar, taking full control of the company. They became full owners and co-presidents of their company Dualstar which was created in 1993 following the success of Full House. In the lead-up to that, however, the Olsens had a memorable rush of PR buzz in the spring of 2004, both good and bad. Their long-awaited next feature film, New York Minute. They graduated from high school on June 7, and turned 18 birthday only 6 days later. In 2005 both of them withdrew from New York University, a few months apart, and returned to Los Angeles.

Following years the Olsens branched out as adults, asking to be viewed individually in the media, rather than as a pair. First solo acting appearance was in the movie Factory Girl, released in December 2006. Ashley and Mary-Kate indicated their interest to retire as actresses in order to focus on their careers in fashion. Ashley and Mary-Kate felt that their futures were in fashion, and not in acting. The sisters began appearing together in the Badgley Mischka ad campaign. They also made their foray into the world of high-end fashion by launching a line of their own called The Row. In 2007, they co-founded luxury fashion brands, Elizabeth and James, which is named after their sister and brother. They are also known for their more affordable lines StyleMint and Olsenboye.

In 2012 the Olsen Twins won the top prize at the CFDA (Council Of Fashion Designers of America) Fashion Awards and 3 years later for Womenswear Designer of the Year for The Row. In 2015 Netflix announced a reboot of Full House aptly called Fuller House, but after much speculation, the Olsen Twins decided not to participate in the series.
